Here are some simple tips that our Indian beauties swear by to keep glowing
DRINK LOTS OF WATER:
Neha Dhupia believes in drinking lots and lots of water. “I guzzle at least three litres of water a day to maintain muscle tone and rid my body of toxins,” she says. Nutritionists say that in summer, water is the best way to go. If you find water too boring, add slices of lemon, orange, strawberry or cucumber to add some flavour. It can cool and refresh you.
EAT MINI MEALS:
Eating small meals throughout the day boosts metabolism and prevents binge eating. “Every time you eat, your body burns calories,” says Sameera Reddy, adding, “So eating every two hours or so keeps your body working.” Dieticians say that a balanced diet plan, which includes carbohydrates, proteins and a sufficient supply of vitamins, can rev up a good exercise plan.
RELAX YOUR MIND:
Actor Priyanka Chopra recommends that young girls work on calming their minds. Many years ago, when she was participating in the Miss India pageant, she learnt relaxation techniques to gain control of the situation. Relaxing the mind helps in taking wellgrounded decisions and can keep you feeling beautiful.
REFRESH AT THE SPA:
Sometimes a bubble bath and a doit-yourself facial just won’t cut it. A trip to the spa — where you can free your mind and pamper your body — is in order. “Bring on the spas,” says Firoza Gujaral. She says she likes a day when she is with friends getting her toes and nails done. “Anything that has to do with rejuvenation of mind, body and spirit, I am all for it: be it a spa or a massage,” she smiles.
WORK OUT DAILY:
Actor Shilpa Shetty swears by a good exercise regimen. Be it kickboxing, weight-training or yoga, the benefits of staying fit are plenty. Yoga works exceptionally well for Shilpa. She didn’t even miss her chance to participate in Baba Ramdev ’s camp recently.
